On August 15, 2025, the Superintendência de Seguros Privados (SUSEP) opened a public consultation on a draft resolution intended to regulate the mutual asset protection regime provided for in Complementary Law No. 213/2025.
On an exceptional basis, the period for comments was set at 45 days, in recognition of the importance and complexity of the subject.
The new regulatory framework aims to govern the activities of vehicle protection associations and of the future administrators of mutual operations, establishing standards for governance, solvency, cost apportionment, technical provisions and transparency, approximating, in several respects, the rules applicable to insurers.
